I have worked in Thunder Bay and the Robinson-Superior Treaty Area in mental health services throughout my career as a Registered Social Worker with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW). I obtained my HBSW through Lakehead University in Thunder Bay, Ontario and my Masters of Social Work through Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia. I am an experienced therapist who will work together with you to achieve the goals that are important to you.

I am of Algonquin Anishinaabe and English European heritage. I am a proud member of the Algonquins of Pikwakanagan First Nation. Like many Anishinaabe people, I come from a family of story tellers. Whether we were sitting around the kitchen table or the campfire, stories were the way we understood where we came from and how we knew where we belonged in the world. As I got older, I began to wonder about the stories that weren’t told. The stories that were too painful to share.

Becoming a therapist has allowed me to create a safe space to explore, understand, and give voice to our most painful stories. I believe sharing these stories is an integral part of healing. While it may feel too painful to share, or your story may have been silenced in the past, I will support you every step of the way at a pace that feels comfortable for you. Whether you are struggling with trauma, depression, anxiety, relationship difficulties or other mental health challenges we will work together to begin your healing journey to wellness and living the life you hope for.

I have over fourteen years of experience working in mental health in the public and private sector. I am committed to professional development and primarily integrate Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Parts Work (Internal Family System Informed) in my practice as well as other therapy modalities including Narrative Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Dialectical Behavioural Therapy. In addition, I have experience working with Indigenous people and can offer a wholistic approach to healing that is culturally- and trauma-informed.

Of course, the key to success in therapy is the therapeutic relationship and ‘goodness of fit’; therefore, I encourage you to contact me to arrange a free 15-minute consultation.
